Telephone Scam: First of all, please be aware that there is currently a telephone scam circulating in our community. The caller ID states it is the Gig Harbor Police calling, however it is a scam insisting you have citations and there is an outstanding warrant in your name. There is a demand for you to appear at a “kiosk”, verify your signature and there is a fee to clear any misunderstanding. We contacted Gig Harbor PD and they stated this scam is the result of an individual ‘ghosting’ their phone number. Gig Harbor PD would never handle any complaints outside of their jurisdiction and the request for money for any reason is bogus.
