A few members attended this recent event in order to update our own emergency response plan in Spinnaker Ridge. In the months to come we are hoping to pass on much of this information. First get your supply kit together: one for your car and one for home.
Minimum, these kits should include:
- Water (1 gallon / person/day for minimum of 3 days)
- 3 day supply non-perishable food
- Battery-powered or handcrank radio / extra batteries
- First aid kit
- whistle
- Dust mask, plastic sheeting, duct tape (to shelter in place)
- Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation
- Wrench/pliers to turn off utilities
- Can opener
- Local maps In addition: Leather gloves, sturdy shoes, warm clothes, helmet, fire extinguisher (Costco)), safety goggles.
