Good Afternoon Friends and Neighbors!
We sincerely thank Susan and David Winningham for giving us a heads up that Free Covid-19 test kits are available to anyone over the age of 16 at our local Gig Harbor Library in Point Fosdick. These test kits are provided by the Health Department and are limited to (2) kits per person. The librarian shared that they currently have a healthy supply of kits available and you do not need to have a library card to obtain a kit.
There are a few simple steps required when completing this home test kit:
1. You must register your test kit online with the unique kit ID found within the package. This will provide the Health Dept with a contact email so you may be informed about the results of the test.
2. Collect your sample using the included instructions.
3. Return the completed Covid-19 Test home collection kit to the closest UPS location. The kit provides a pre-paid, pre-addressed return pack.
4. It’s important to drop off your sample on the same day you collect it and drop it off before the carrier’s last pickup to ensure overnight shipping.
5. Lastly, to ensure the viability of the sample do not deliver your completed kit to a drop box on the weekend.
The library provides a handout with the locations of the UPS drop boxes in Gig Harbor.
